Imposter Syndrome
In this blog post we're diving into a topic that many of you have shared with me during the On-Camera 🎥 Confidence course: Imposter Syndrome.
Understanding Imposter Syndrome
Imposter syndrome is a psychological phenomenon where individuals doubt their abilities, accomplishments, and overall competence despite evident success and external validation. You might recognize it through symptoms like perfectionism, fear of failure, overworking, and an inability to realistically assess your competence.
This is particularly common among high achievers and professionals, including those in the fitness and wellness industry. Posting reels on Instagram, sharing your knowledge, and offering advice can be daunting. The fear of being judged is real, and while there might be comments that rub you the wrong way, the harshest critic is often yourself.
Common Challenges
When you are new to showing your face on Instagram or have recently transitioned into a new career. It’s easy to feel insecure when there are so many other great content creators in your field with large followings and apparent success. Just remember; do not compare your Chapter 1 to someone else’s Chapter 10. Everyone starts somewhere, and many of those successful creators have faced similar feelings of self-doubt and insecurity. And its very likely that they continue to face insecurities and self-doubt; it's only natural when you expand, grow and operate outside of your comfort zone.
I will admit that I at times doubt my abilities; and what helps is looking back at all my achievements; sometimes you forget how much you have done, learned and accomplished and you need to remind yourself of that. There will always be others out there that know more, that have more success but that does not mean that you can not reach your goals and build your dream career and life.
There is a room for you!💜
There are people wanting to learn from you and benefit tremendously from all your passed experienced, knowledge and guidance. You are unique and your authentic expressions is what makes you stand out. Your personality and vibe will attract an audience and clients that resonates with you. Keep reminding yourself; you are a positive force in this world; you are valuable and worthy.
If I didn’t believe that there was room for me I wouldn’t have published my cookbook, I wouldn’t have started a social media coaching business and my Online Success Podcast would not exist
