I traveled 18 hours to my job in beautiful, sunny and tranquil Tenerife to work a full day in….the studio! Crazy but true! I was booked to shoot multiple covers for a German catalogue and looking at the storyboard, I knew it was going to be a long day. It was actually a good thing to be in a studio because it’s a controlled environment. When working outside you are always depending on the conditions as the wind can be challenging for hair and clouds can cause delays because of light. When working in the studio it’s easier to perfect the picture and you can do more shots. After a twelve-hour day in a studio I had zero energy left but decided to go to the gym anyway. I did 30 minutes on the cross trainer, ran for 20 minutes and did lots of abs. After my workout I felt totally re-energized; I just love the rush of endorphins after a good workout. The mental reward was huge as I felt happy and clear in my head….and hungry 😉 I went to the restaurant of my hotel and ordered a grilled Sole fillet (with an insane amount of garlic) and yummy roasted vegetables. Definitely the best meal I had on my entire trip! Fish is usually a great choice when you’re on an island as it’s local and fresh. I also really enjoyed the local bananas and oranges for breakfast as they were more flavorful then most of fruits I purchase at home. One interesting fact is that It was really hard to find whole wheat bread. Luckily my hotel had a nice selection breads for breakfast but in all other places it was white bread only. Everyone seemed to be eating white bread with cheese and/or meat all day long. Even for lunch our crew had ordered exactly that LOL Tasty, but that’s was not going to provide me enough energy to get through the day, so I ordered a tuna salad and a tortilla instead 😉 I’m on my way back home, looking forward to a home cooked meal!
