Are you like me; glued to your cell phone most of the day? I feel like I can’t life without; I do my work on it, snap pics, use the maps and connect with my loved ones at any moment. Cell phones are awesome!
But lately I’ve been thinking about the potentially harmful electromagnetic waves from the phone. We don’t know much about the long-term effect of radiation, I certainly am a bit concerned about it.
Did you hear about the science experiment that five ninth-grade girls from Denmark conducted? The girls noticed that if they slept with their mobile pones near their heads at night, they often had difficulty concentrating at school the next day. They wanted to test the effect of a cell phone’s radiation on humans but their school, did not have the equipment to handle such an experiment. So the girls designed an experiment that would test the effect of cell phone radiation on a plant instead.
The students placed six trays filled with Lepidium sativum, a type of garden cress, into a room without radiation, and six trays of the seeds into another room next to two routers that according to the girls’ calculations, emitted about the same type of radiation as an ordinary cell phone.
Over the next 12 days, the girls observed, measured, weighed and photographed their results. By the end of the experiment the results were blatantly obvious — the cress seeds placed near the router had not grown. Many of them were completely dead. Meanwhile, the cress seeds planted in the other room, away from the routers, thrived. Ugh.. harsh reality. See picture! That really makes me want to protect myself. But how?
Coincidentally when I walked out of the writers workshop this weekend I was invited to visit next doors event; a raw food and yoga expo and stumbled upon a booth in which they sell cell shield; the stickers for your phone to stop the radiation. The guy at the booth showed me the difference in energy frequency with a device; the indicator went through the roof without the stickers and didn’t move with the sticker. I had to get it, this is what I was looking for and it was only $20. Feeling much better about my cell phone now!
If you believe in the stickers or not, I suggest to always switch your phone to airplane mode before you go to sleep. (Even with the sticker) Let your body rest and heal at night so it can perform at it’s best during the day!
