Yesterday I was at Miami airport in search for something to eat before I got on my flight to Tenerife ( Canary Islands, Spain). As I walked around, scanning my food options I felt a sense of disbelieve when I discovered that my only options were greasy pastries, sugary cereal, white bread or Pizza Hut. I was so disappointed and just can’t understand that there isn’t a single restaurant with some healthy food options in an international terminal of a big airport?
I eventually managed to find a Caesar salad with chicken in a plastic container. The salad looked a bit boring and artificial but it seemed to be the best choice. After eating the salad I was left with a feeling of dissatisfaction, thinking, “This is not sufficient for an eight hour flight”.
Good thing, I brought a few healthy snacks from home but those also weren’t going to keep me going for 8 hours. I was now fully dependent on the airlines food, which is usually never a good thing.
Luckily the food on board was decent; I ate the veggies, rice, cheese, most of the chicken and half of the dessert. After dinner I closed my eyes and I was dreaming about my next meal
